Inhale, Change, Exhale
Trio series of posters I made for a Visual Communications course; special thank you to my professor Nico that inspired the idea, someone who always carried himself with calming energy and genuine connection.
In this project, I want to convey the message of “Inhale, Change, Exhale” and that all human beings are inherently always connected to nature. To the lines on our hands and fingertips and the veins in our very bodies being reflective of the veins on leaves and tree trunks, to the untamed nature of our hair being equivalent to the branches on trees that move so effortlessly as the wind travels through them. The idea of “Inhale, Change, Exhale” is that no matter the obstacles or hardship we face in the human realm, we must always remind ourselves to be as adaptable as the ocean and let things flow; we must learn to change like the wind and like Mother Nature herself. Nothing in life is constant except for change. We are all connected and I created this project to visually represent this phenomenon in its entirety by using my own original images and themes in my life. Once of my favorite pieces of working with mixed media.
First slide: Inhale
Represents the waking phases of change and the preparation we make before things start to gain their color. Top leaf and the palm of my hand are orignial photos, eyes found on Pinterest, text added and overall poster edited with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
Second slide: Change
The actual moment of change that we undergo and the visual clash between color (leaf) and being stagnant (tree trunk). All original photos, edited and text added with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
Third slide: Exhale
Releasing the transition, moving toward the light and living in full color. The change is made and the lesson had been learned. All original photos, including my eyes in the center. Edits and text made with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
